I remember learning that his Panzer commander wanted to spearhead the Norman coast but Hitlerwould not allow that defensive. He believed the allies would arrive at another local, at another time.

D. and actually that’s where he began to lose the war he had developed Parkinson’s disease and it didn’t really click in his head to send all 6 reserve units to Normandy so he only sent 2 not thinking and thus America prevailed.
