I Am Planning A Trip To France In August And Would Like To Visit Normandy/d-day Sites Of Canadian Troops-juno?
I have found lots of info about staying near Omaha beach but not much regarding the sites of Canadian landing. Coming via rail, any good B&B’s to recommend that are reasonably priced.
Also wonder about car rental, dont want to drive in big cities but could manage country roads probably.

I take it you will be staying in Caen. If not you might find that the best base for checking out the D-Day beaches.
There is an excellant public bus system that will take you to most of the Normandy Landing sites, the cemeteries, memorials and museums. A one day bus pass can be purchased for 17.70 euros
Free bus timetables can be acquired from the main tourist office in Caen on the Place St Pierre and they will direct you to the specifc beach you are looking for.
A map of the bus routes can be found here: http://www.busverts.fr/_hiver/plan.asp
