Last Days In Normandy

Next stop was two overnight specialities..... Honfleur and Mont St MichelIt took forever for us to find our accomodataion in Honfluer. The Longest Day Day 51

So today was a day I had been pretty excited about for a while. Going on a tour of the DDay beaches out in Normandy. For whatever reason I have kind of turned into a bit of a history buffnerd on this subject and wanted to go out to the area to check it out and pay my respects at the American cemertary to all the soldiers we lost that day. Unfortunately it's a two hour train ride out to the to

DDay Tour

We took the OmahaUtah full day tour given by Overlord Tours. Our guide Alain Chesnel has a passion for the events of the liberation his father had been a resistance fighter and he took us to many sites unavailable to the general public. The Greatest Place Of All Time

Bonjour Ca va Je suis magnifique merci beaucoupSo there we were leaving the City of Lights behind and just about as walkedout as we could be. It was really nice to spend a couple of days in a campsite with access to a laundry and an information desk full of power points to charge our seemingly endless batteries. But at euro21.50 a day it was starting to break our budget. HahaSo off we

Five Days Five Countries 2776 km Euro Road Trip

With our bags packed we load everything into the Ford Cmax our rental car for the next five days. The next challenge to figure out how to use the Sat Nav. We get the hang of it eventually and head away from Rotterdam and towards Lieden where we make a short pit stop to pick up costumes for a New Years fancy dress party later in our trip. Safely avoiding the canals which are freaky to try a

BAYEUX Day 7Not too much to mention today. I got up early and beelined it for the train station so that I could catch one of the 3 trains to Bayeux Normandy. In the train station I kept hearing the bell they sound before they make an announcement. Now I kept thinking it sounded familiar and then it hit me. It sounded just like the music they play o

And the angel said.. Build a giant abbey on an island in the bay.

MONT ST. MICHEL Day 9Got the super early train to Pontorson so that I could visit Mont St. Michel. Before I forgot to comment on an important matter dogs are allowed to ride the train in Europe. All over the place I keep seeing dogs on the trains and not just little ones either. I like it Dogs should be able to ride whatever train they want to. Ba
