getting from calais to normandy?

travelling to france in august. would like advice on taking tube to dover from heathrow. how easy is that? how expensive? then we plan on spending a night in dover… are there any decent places i could take three kids for a night? we then plan on taking the ferry the next day into calais and renting a car… does anyone know of a car rental place that’s reliable??? or is the train/bus a regular reliable/cheaper thing…? then taking the car, train or bus into normandy… do i have to book the ferry in advance? i can’t see that, with so many crossings a day… or, do i need to book a car rental in advance? etc…

if you can help with any or all of these questions i’d greatly appreciate it…

does anyone know of fairytale collections from Normandy, France (English transl) and where I get such books?

I went to a storytelling session recently and they told stories from Normandy, now I can’t get them out of my head. I would like to know where I could purchase such stories.

Bringing cigars/cigarettes back from Europe?

I’m going on a trip to France/Belgium/Normandy with my school (I’m 17, grade 11) and I was thinking that it would be nice to bring my parents and brother something back. My brother likes cigars, so I was hoping that I could buy some there and bring them here. It’s not an issue of whether or not the teachers will let me, or if I can buy them, because on other school trips (Cuba, France) they were allowed to smoke/bring some back.

The question I have, is how do I go through declaring them and everything? What’s the process? Can I declare them myself, and how many if I can?

I’m from Canada, if that makes a difference.

Thank you!

I am about to head from Wales to France on holiday. What is the best and most cost effective transport ?

I am really excited! I am about to head off for a European holiday with my son. We want to see the alps, experience some of the battlefields of world war 2, and maybe ski and snowboard. The problem is we are about to head off in about 2 days ( Like to be spontaneous) and I am not sure what is the best way to cross the channel. I like the idea of the ferry from Dover to Normandy, but am not sure if that is my best option. I am also not sure if we can just sort of turn up and buy a ticket when we arrive. I know that you can buy online, but like I say I like to be spontaneous and would prefer to purchase when we arrive. Any suggestions?

Which African nations, I mean. Especially blacks in Normandy. I am not complaining, I actually just met some nice black girls from France, and they are cute.

I’m From The Usa, Are The Street Signs Along The Roads Of France Easy To Read?

I’m from the USA, are the street signs along the roads of France easy to read?
My husband and I are visiting Normandy Beaches over Memorial Day. We are driving from the airport CDG to Bayeux and then Bayeux to Versailles to drop car few days later. My map shows letters and numbers as road identification, are the street signs in France marked with example: A13, or N14? Are the signs easy to read? I heard they are town by town, not East-West like in US.

Does Anyone Know The Name Of A Special Crepe From Normandy?

When I went to France, I stayed in the Champagne region. My homestay mother gave me a sepcial crepe for breakfast one day. I believe she said they were a traditional crepe from Normandy, however her English was not very good and I do not speak any French. It was a very sweet crepe with sugar sprinkled on one side and then folded so the sugar stayed inside. They were delicious!
Does anyone have any idea what the name of these crepes were? Thank you!

Get Answers From Millions Of Real People.places To Stay Touring France Brittany/normandy?

We are hoping to travel France by car & would like to know places to stay en-route, times to reach places etc, I am disabled so stairs are a bit of a problem. We would like either budget Hotel or Guesthouses for one night stays whilst travelling. We would travel from Dover to Dunkerque or Calais.
We are looking for scenery rather than nightlife and to see the cultral side of villages etc. We are hoping to travel later this year. Accomodation would be for two people. If anyone could assist us `we would be extremely grateful. Thanks Tony
