Ok, so we are traveling to visit the UK around Christmas this year (from the US). We are renting a car to get around. One of the days I would like to take the Chunnel and use it to go to France and ultimately visit Normandy Beach. Are there any restrictions to my ability to take a rental car into another country? If so, are there addendums you can purchase that would allow this sort of thing?

Thanks in advance for the info. Oh, btw, we plan to use one of the major rental car companies (Avis, Hertz, Alamo, etc) as opposed to something like Fred’s Rentals.

Hi All,
Have a trip to London and Normandy planned next week. I am from Canada and the car rental/booking phone lines are all seperate.
I’m wondering if anyone had any experiences renting a car in London and driving it into France. I’ve been planning on driving to Normandy. Will return the car back in London. Don’t have access to overseas calling at the moment so can’t call the office in question personally
